Frequently Asked Questions

  • HOW DO I RESERVE A PUPPLY?
    1. Submit an application. Once your application is reviewed we will contact you. 2. Place a non refundable $500 deposit to be put on our wait list. Puppy selection is based on the order the deposit was received. 3. Prepare for the new addition to your family. 4. Pick up your puppy at 7-8 weeks old. At this time the remaining balance will be due.
  • WHAT IF I CAN’T COME TO PICK UP THE PUPPY?
We would love to meet you but if that doesn’t work, we have different options! Choose whatever works best for you. 1. We can arrange to meet you part way. There will be a fee depending on distance. 2. Most of our families book through WestJet Cargo out of Calgary to have their pups flown to them. Here is the number to call 1-866-WJCARGO (952-2746)
  • WHAT VACCINATIONS WILL MY PUPPY HAVE?
Your puppy will come home up to date on their shots. We provide 3 rounds of dewormer as well as the first set of vaccines at 7 weeks. Pups will need additional boosters at 12 & 16 weeks.
  • DO YOU PROVIDE A HEALTH GUARANTEE?
We are confident in our dogs and provide a one year health guarantee.
  • DO YOU ALLOW BREEDING RIGHTS?
If you are interested in breeding, please message us and we can discuss it. There is a fee for breeding rights.
  • HOW MUCH SHOULD I FEED MY PUPPY?
Look at the back of the food bag for measurements! At 8 weeks they will be eating 3 times a day. Sometimes the new environment can cause nervousness and your pup might not feel like eating. If this is the case, we recommend getting dry puppy food and soaking it in a little bit of water or try mixing dry puppy food with canned food.
  • WHEN CAN I START TAKING MY PUPPY TO PUBLIC PLACES?
We recommend waiting until they are fully vaccinated! (Typically when they are 16-18 weeks) This will help reduce the risk of parvo. It’s important for the puppy to be socialized during this period, just ensure wherever you’re socializing your pup that they are in a safe space. If you want to take it to your family’s house and they have dogs, just make sure their dogs are fully immunized.
  • WHAT WILL MY PUPPY COME HOME WITH?
Each puppy will be going home with vet check and vaccination records. A small blanket that is scented with their mom and siblings, a toy, and poop bags. Also we can provide a bag full of food to help transition over to whichever brand you choose to feed your pup.
  • TRAINING YOUR PUPPY
We believe training is a huge part of dog ownership. We do the first 7-8 weeks of proper puppy development and training. After the puppy goes to their forever home they are eager to learn and ready to be trained. Whether you do it yourself, online, or hire a professional dog trainer, you won’t regret it, and your puppy deserves it!
  • HOW SHOULD I START POTTY TRAINING MY DOG?
The key is to stay consistent, especially while they are young! Take the puppy out the same door each time you let your dog out. Puppies have small bladders and will need to be let out frequently. Start by taking your puppy outside at least every hour from morning until it goes to bed. You may need to get up in the night with it for the first little bit. As it gets older it will be able to hold its bladder longer and will only need to be let out in the morning, after meals and before bed.
